Despite their midday position, AC/DC’s performance is widely remembered as one of the highlights of the event. Even more remarkably, the show came just six days before the Highway to Hell album was released in North America, capturing the band at the exact moment they were moving from cult favorites toward global superstardom. The lineup was Bon Scott on lead vocals, Angus Young on lead guitar, Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Cliff Williams on bass and backing vocals, and Phil Rudd on drums.
