@yahs_supersaiyan: Ukitake’s First Hell Power Reveal Changes Everything. Ukitake returned from Hell with a Zanpakutō so enormous that it dwarfed the battlefield, but this may not even be his Bankai. During Bleach’s special Hell chapter, Szayelaporro escapes into the World of the Living with a new body and the power to control Hell’s chains. After restraining Renji and confronting Ichigo, Szayel reveals Soul Society’s darkest secret. Captain-class souls are too spiritually dense to return to Soul Society’s soil. So twelve years after a captain’s death, the Konsō Reisai secretly casts that captain into Hell. The latest ritual was performed for Jūshirō Ukitake. Once the ceremony was completed, Hell opened behind Szayelaporro. A colossal blade resembling one half of Ukitake’s Sōgyo no Kotowari erupted from the gate, impaled Szayel and dragged him back inside. The weapon was vastly larger than Ukitake’s original Shikai, but the chapter never identifies it as his Bankai. It could be a Hell-enhanced Zanpakutō, a manifestation of Ukitake’s enormous spiritual pressure or something created by Hell itself. And its first action was not attacking Ichigo. It stopped Szayelaporro from escaping. That means Ukitake may not be Hell’s next villain. He could be guarding the boundary from inside. Was this Ukitake’s Bankai, a Hell transformation or simply an enormous Shikai? #bleach #bleachanime #bleachtybw #bleachmanga #anime

Wait why is he in hell though

Ayhan :

It is highly likely that the original Gotei 13 and Captain Ukitake will be the villains in the Hell arc. I believe this is why Kubo introduced the captains of the original Gotei 13—it lays the groundwork for what’s to come. Just as the Espada, the Quincy, or the Fullbringers served as antagonist groups in previous seasons, the captains from the past could fill that role this time around.

yusifer04 :

In the Hellverse movie it was stated that Hell brings out your dark side. Ik they didn’t use all of Kubos ideas but this makes sense. I dont think they will necessarily be villains but definitely very different.
