The real mystery is who is the benefactor, and I think it’s Laura Linney’s Guardian. She has gone rogue from the Council and is using John and Hal (through Sinestro) to destabilize or destroy the Lantern Corps. That’s my theory.

Hal’s dead body is Zoe. And she transformed into Hal before death. To let John know it was him who killed her. That’s why John was tearing up when he seen Hal and checked if he had a ring mark

The Manhunter isn’t the big bad. It’s the red lanterns. And doesn’t mean that the Manhunter is who killed Hal.
