Hi everyone Little Jon Snow is commencing chemotherapy, and his PCV levels have improved. something that truly felt like a little miracle to us. He still has a long road ahead, but right now, every day is about celebrating the smallest wins. Yesterday, Jon groomed himself in front of us for the first time in such a long time. He even ate his dinner while we were still in the room, when he would usually wait for us to leave. These moments may seem tiny, but for a boy who has spent so long protecting himself, they mean absolutely everything. Jon is gradually becoming more confident, and we're allowing him to move entirely at his own pace. His beautiful slow blinks tell us that he finally feels safe, and although he still likes to act a little tough, we know he secretly loves being loved. To us, rescue means loving them through every phase of their journey, not only when they are healthy, young or easy to care for. Jon lost an ear after years of neglect, and spent so much of his life sheltering beneath a car with only the cold concrete beneath him. If anyone deserves warmth, comfort and softness now, it is him. We have also seen comments suggesting that Jon should be euthanised simply because he has cancer. Please understand that he is eating, drinking, grooming, using his litter and enjoying affection. His treatment is being guided by his oncologist and veterinary team, who are continually monitoring his comfort and quality of life. We would never prolong Jon's suffering for our own sake. But while he remains comfortable, enjoys his meals and shows us that he still wants to be here, he deserves the chance to keep fighting. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for surrounding our sweet boy with so much love and support.
