Grateful I didn’t have to go back. Nothing is more important than being with your child, if you’re able to be. These jobs don’t care about us.

I felt like such a sucker punch on my first day. Everyone was kind but there was this feeling that while I was “missed” at work… I was completely changing a daily dynamic for a little human I spent attached to 12 hrs a day. It felt like prioritizing the wrong thing in a way. It’s also why I’ll never give up my weekend contact naps.

Just back from 12 week mat leave - would have loved more time but I actually think more time would make them think I am optional even though I know I’m not! Def hard being back

I resigned for a new job..they posted my role for hire literally the same day. My new job will give me more flexibility to be with my baby but it showed me I’m replaceable everywhere except for home.

I had five months and I agree! Grateful I was given more than most Americans but she was so small going into daycare. I am a children’s librarian so when I got back there was a big poster on my office door with messages from all the kids excited I was back. That helped because I did miss the kids but I miss mine too 😭 when I’ve brought her to work the kids will ask if they can “pet your baby” 😂
