@natestinyspoon: 9-month-old behaviors that can TERRIFY new parents… but are often completely normal 👀👇 Around 9 months, your baby is changing FAST. New skills, stronger opinions, and a whole lot more personality can make some totally normal behaviors feel concerning. Here are 5 that catch parents off guard: 😭 1. Random meltdowns… then they’re totally fine One second they’re devastated. Two minutes later? Happiest baby alive 😂 They’re starting to have BIG feelings without any way to regulate or explain them yet. 😴 2. Sleep suddenly gets worse More waking, fighting naps, or wanting you at night can happen around this age as development, separation anxiety, and new skills collide. 👩 3. Suddenly preferring one parent Baby might cry when one parent leaves or only want ONE person to hold them. This can be a normal part of attachment and separation anxiety. 🥚 4. As your baby develops their pincer grasp, those big strips and finger-sized pieces can start changing too. Offering smaller pieces, shreds, and bite-sized foods gives them opportunities to practice picking food up with their thumb and pointer finger. 🥑 5. Mealtime becomes a MESS Smearing, squishing, dropping, throwing, and playing with food isn’t necessarily “bad behavior.” Exploring food with their hands is part of learning how to eat.
