A patients phone was ringing as we were finishing treatment, we told him to go ahead as we were done! He proceeds to get into it with someone, hangs up the phone, then looks at us and says “sorry that was my girlfriend. She just told me I’m not the father of our child.” Literally the only thing I could think to say was “I’m so sorry, at least your front tooth is fixed” 🫠

Was working in an autistic 18 year old guy. Nonverbal. 6’5” and probably 300lbs. Mind you I’m 5’4” and maybe 115lbs. Pt was calm for about HALF the appt. Out of nowhere he grabbed me by the scrub top and threw me into the wall behind me. Couldn’t breathe and my back ended up hurting really bad. Told the pts parents he couldn’t come back anymore

Oh way too many to count. One of the craziest though was when I asked a kid what class he was getting to skip (appt was during day on weekday). He said he was suspended because he was a “suspected school sh**ter” I said OH. and just cleaned his teeth.

A doctor made me cry cus at first he looked really intimidating and was rude asf ( when I was a baby DA) my coworkers were comforting me and telling me he’s rude to every new person. That night I found his instagram and he was posted up in thongs, lingerie , and full faces of makeup while cosplaying as a reviled straight white man at work. My coworkers then ended up telling me that’s why they’re not scared of him anymore cus they found his instagram too and they can’t take him seriously 😂😂😂😂😂😂 after that he came in the next day peeped my energy was off towards him and wasn’t scared. Giggled everytime he walked by and he went in the office and quit. My manager text the group chat and said “the witch is gone” we had a party the next day 😭😭😭😭😭

I had a pt who had just gotten out of prison and wanted new dentures so we did exam and dr left me to do the rest of the appointment by myself and he starts telling me about getting out of prison and so I told him congrats and I hope he gets a fresh start and he then tells me, unprompted, “yeah I killed someone” and I told him “oh it happens” then he tried to set me up on a date with his son. Mind you I’m 7 months pregnant and married. It became a running joke in the office, everytime something really bad happened everyone would say “it happens”

Not the craziest thing, but I’ll never forget when a patient said to me, “Damn, every time I see you, you keep getting bigger.” 😭 I knew right then it was time to LOCK IN. 😂 Fast forward a year, I see her again and the first thing she says is, “Oh wow! I was doing a cleaning on an older lady in a house dress with pockets on the front. Mid cleaning, 4 large cockroaches came out of her pocket and crawled up her chest. I casually flicked them off in the floor and stepped on them. I didn’t want to embarrass her 😞
