Years ago my kid's teacher showed the class how to do long division. Showing is not teaching. Showed just one problem in class then assigned 10 for homework. My kid was in tears. I taught how I was taught which looked nothing like what the teacher did. I said Too bad. Have her call me to discuss it. Since I had to teach it, I taught it how I learned it. And I know it's right.
