No need to shred the chicken. Remove the fly from the bag, then just roll it around and squish it. Everything is removed from the bone. No nasty fingers.

If you let it cool, can put it in a big ziplock bag and take the meat off the bone that way

I did work in hospital kitchen and cooked homemade dinners. Best way to thaw meat fast is to run it under slow stream of cold water.
