Bali LGA, Taraba State. 🌍❤️ Created in 1976, Bali is the largest LGA in Taraba State by landmass, covering about 9,146 km². To put that size into perspective, Bali is larger than Lagos, Ekiti, Abia, Ebonyi and Imo States individually. 🤯🌍 Its headquarters is Bali town, and the 2006 census recorded 211,024 people. Bali is home to diverse communities, including the Jibu, Fulani, Tiv, Ichen, Jukun, Wurbo, Kam and Chamba people. Agriculture is the backbone of the LGA, with yam, rice, beans, groundnuts, maize, melon, sugarcane and cassava produced in large quantities. Farming, fishing, livestock rearing and trading are major livelihoods. 🌾🎣🐄 Some notable towns and communities include Bali, Suntai, Maihula, Garba Chede, Mayo Kam, Takalafiya, Kaigama, Gang Mata, Ganglari, Gangtiba, Gang Dole and Dakka. Interesting fact: Bali sits along the Taraba River, and its enormous landmass makes it the largest of Taraba’s 16 LGAs. 🌊🌿 Bali is also home to Federal Polytechnic Bali. 🎓 The LGA shares boundaries with Ardo Kola, Gassol, Yorro, Donga, Kurmi and Gashaka, as well as Adamawa State. Bali has also produced prominent figures, including former Taraba State Governor Danbaba Suntai, who was born in Suntai town. As part of our “Know Your LGA” series, we’re counting down to the 35th anniversary of Taraba State by revisiting all 16 LGAs and sharing the people, places, stories and facts that make each one unique. Are you from Bali, grew up there, studied there, or did your NYSC there? 👀 Tell us what you remember most about Bali! 👇🏾❤️ #DiscoverTaraba #Taraba #Bali #BaliLGA
