personally not a cosplayer, but I don't think you're wasting your time because it's a detail that you'll notice, which is really all that matters, right?

genuinely small details add up, it really elevates a cosplay and makes it look less costumey

the point is are you finishing up the tiny details or you just randomly doing this one bit instead of doing the main parts of the cosplay

the details aren’t noticeable on their own, but when there’s an abundance of them, it really makes a difference

No detail is too small when it comes to cosplay. You’ll notice, and that’s what matters.

I think it’s like rendering art. The little details individually do not get noticed but pull the piece up to a new level. In the context of cosplay I think it’s taking it from a costume to something believable

details are what bring it from looking like a spirit halloween costume to an actual cosplay

as someone who’s made lots of cosplays including that exact cosplay, tiny “unimportant” details will always make your work look better ^-^

when cosplaying do whatever makes you happy tbh 😭 add any details you like, if anybody notices that's an extra, just have the joy of knowing "IT'S ACCURATE!!!" y'know? that's what cosplay is actually all about

Cosplay unlike other forms of art lets people literally get right up into it, the more little details you add the better it will look walking around in. If it’s for a stage production where nobody will get within arms reach it’s less of an issue

One time I saw a zuko cosplayer so I said “your scar is on the wrong side” as a reference just to realize it actually was as a reference to the ember island play

This. Because if you bring it into a contest, the judges will LOVE it. Tiny details are great, I love them too!
