A bit part of the problem you missed is the overall refusal in women to not challenge their own patriarchal attitudes towards men. there's a lot of talk of being healed or liberated from patriarchy, but that system is still being propped up by many of them

when I was in college (so around 2012ish) I almost went down the altn right pipeline because I got on tumblr and was bombarded with how much people hated me for my gender, sex, skin color, orientation, etc. I wasn't talking to anyone on the far right. Didn't have conservative friends, didn't start talking to conservative groups online or anything, I wasn't being pulled by the right, I was being pushed by the left. Thankfully I stopped spending much time online and realized that I was seeing a bunch of stupid crap that I could ignore, but if I had simultaneously had a bunch of white dudes telling me all my feelings were valid, I might have made some huge mistakes and I don't know what it would have taken to get back on track.

There are certainly issues that need addressed but from personal experience I just don't understand the shift to the alt-right and manosphere. I've been at some very low points in life but never low enough to be like "yeah you know what this is women's fault". Anytime I say things against that ideology I usually just get called a "nice guy" or a "white knight" but I'm literally just not an asshole to people so idk.

people also willfully misunderstand what people mean by "male loneliness." it doesn't mean "women aren't sleeping with men." it actually refers to a much broader issue, including loneliness within their own friendships. men don't touch each other, express emotional vulnerability, really KNOW one another. men have a relational issue that is created and driven by patriarchy! the only physical and emotional closeness they are "allowed" to experience in patriarchy is that of their female partner. "male loneliness" is a feminist issue the same way toxic masculinity is!

It’s weird to assume all men deal with the same issues though. If someone advocates for mental health services, they are advocating for young men. If someone advocates for better after school programs, they are advocating for young men. If someone advocates for LGBTQ youth, they are advocating for young men. The assumption that “young man” means middle class white and straight is part of the problem.

Oh, Super Simple. The patriarchy was set up as a system where men from ages 15 to 25 were emotionally isolated so they'd spend their prime dying in mines or killing each other for flags. Time marched on, the mines are topside and the killing is mostly done at distance. But we still socially isolate these boys and tell them the only acceptable form of affection for a man is Romantic. But women, women have platonic affection of all shapes and stripes, so they don't feel nearly the need to jump into a romantic relationship when there's no longer social and economic pressure pushing them into it. This creates a perfect storm of Old World Men and New World Women, where men are still operating on the old software where they need to work a job and provide a life, but women are operating on the new software where emotional connection and attraction matter. The Red Pill Movement realized this and realized that if they convince men that they're not wrong for operating on that old software, they can keep them in a cycle of loneliness and misery that leaves them ripe for exploitation through Classes and Camps and Podcasts that supplement the sense of community denied to them by the very patriarchy they're perpetuating!

The thing I've seen in a couple friends who used to be pretty liberal, is --partly--since they're not liberal enough for a lot of liberals --and they sense they are despised for that--they can't really hang with them. They wind up working their way to the right where they don't have to face uncomfortable truths.

Isolation brings out the worst in people. We are social creatures. We need healthy human interaction just like any other need. Without that connection and feedback to our ideas, they can become monstrous and we wouldn’t know because we aren’t challenged on those ideas.

the patriarchy hurts men to. the manosphere exists to turn the hurt men feel from the patriarchal systems away from the systems and toward those lower on the social systemic hierarchy. men are more than just providers. men are more than just soldiers. men are more than just criminals.
