i feel like i’d be the person people post on their stories for the first week or two, then the next september, and maybe if im lucky on the september after that, but no one would have stories to tell about me and no one would know my favorite memory or my favorite flowers. i feel like they’d host a funeral even though ive never wanted one, and they’d stand around with their arms crossed trying to come up with a reason they miss me, and they’d tell stories about my competition wins or how “smart” i always, but no one would bring up my poetry or music, or the years i spent begging to get better because i’ve always been the person people remember when it’s easy, and i don’t think that will ever change.

i often have the same feeling, but then tomorrow someone does something so kind for me, even as little as a "have a good day," or a laugh at a joke we both enjoy, and it reminds me that life can be good. the search for some purpose or some cure-all for the pain is fruitless. feel the pain, but also feel the love and the joy and the sun on your face and the wind in your eyes. its all temporary. im sorry, i hope you get through this.
