@plantedinthegarden: Normally when we harvest all our garlic, the bed goes empty. Not today! Because we've been doing relay planting. While the garlic was still finishing up, we snuck squash seedlings right in between the rows. The garlic was almost done anyway, so the squash just started growing while it waited its turn. If you haven't heard of it, relay planting is basically planting your next crop before your current one is even harvested. Instead of waiting for empty soil, you get a head start so the new plant is already established by the time the old one comes out.
