Back in April,Rob and I made plans that this Halloween we were going back to Nashville, the place where our story first began. ❤️ I remember asking you, “Okay, so what are we going as?” And when you told me, I smiled, but I was also a little hesitant. 😂 I wasn't sure I was ready to have half the women in Nashville envious of me because, MAN, did they sure love them some cowboy behind the mask! 🤠 You laughed and assured me that this had always been a vision of yours and that we were going to have so much fun doing it together. So, of course, I finally agreed. And as the months went by, I started putting everything together. I planned, I shopped, I thought about the details, and somewhere along the way, I started getting excited about bringing your vision to life. What I never planned for was having to do it without you. Last night, as I stood there putting the finishing touches on my costume, I completely fell apart. Tears just kept rolling down my face because all I could think about was how you should be here. You should be standing beside me, laughing, picking on me, getting dressed, and rushing around because we're about to head to Nashville together. We were supposed to be making another memory. Instead, I'm trying to hold myself together while making one without you. It's hard to explain what it's like to have so many things on your calendar that were supposed to happen with someone who is no longer here. The world keeps moving, the dates still come, and the plans you made don't just disappear. They become reminders of everything you were supposed to experience together. Losing you has shattered my heart in ways I will never fully be able to explain. There is a version of tonight that I have replayed in my head a thousand times, and in every version, you're right there beside me. But I made a promise to myself, and to you, that I would continue to do the things we talked about, dreamed about, and planned together. Not because it doesn't hurt, but because it does. Because those moments mattered. Because WE mattered. And because I refuse to let the things we dreamed about together become things I never get to experience. So tonight, I'm went back to Nashville. Back to where we first met. And I'm showing up in my MRS. GROUCHY costume, just like we planned. I wish more than anything that I could look over and see you standing there. I wish I could hear your laugh, see that smile, and watch you take in the moment knowing we finally brought your vision to life. If I could have one thing tonight, it wouldn't be the perfect costume, the perfect night, or even the perfect memories. It would simply be one more night with you. I hope you're somewhere watching, smiling that big smile, and probably laughing at me. I hope you know I did it. I kept our plans. I kept my promise. Nashville, this one's for you. Our story started here, and tonight I'm carrying a piece of you back to where it all began. I love you beyond words. I miss you beyond measure. And no matter how many Halloweens come and go, I'll always remember the one we were supposed to spend together. Forever yours ❤️🤠 #mentalhealthawareness💜🤟💚 #itsokaytonotbeokay 🫶🏼💚🙌🏻💜 #nashvilletennessee🤠
