The only problem with the atheists point of view is that it doesn’t take the afterlife into account. That’s reasonable since they don’t believe in. However, you have to realize from our point of view that we do. In your example, God was with both of them. He’s with everyone. We don’t know the reason why one lived and one didn’t. Only the atheist can assume that the person who died wasn’t thought of by God. That’s reasonable since person who died may be with God and serving a much more powerful role in the afterlife. Where you’re correct is that while God is responsible perhaps saving one’s life, he’s also responsible for taking the other back into his kingdom. He has to be responsible in a sense because he’s the reason we’re all here. This is much deeper than people realize. I can understwnd how you can look at it as narcissism, but that’s kinda twisting what people are actually thinking and feeling.
