There are only three exceptions whose earthly births are celebrated: Jesus Christ (Christmas) St. John the Baptist (June 24) The Blessed Virgin Mary (September 8) Why is Mary's birth so significant? Her birth marks the dawn of our redemption. Just as the morning star heralds the rising sun, Mary's birth announced that the "Sun of Justice"—our Lord Jesus Christ—was soon to enter the world.
