I had a situation like this… I’m the “neutral” friend however… they had been both been my friends for years … however I make it clear to both of them I don’t allow any of them to talk bad about one or the other so them talking about each other is a friendship cut for both sides if they cross that line. Because I don’t have time for the drama. Just want to hang out with them and do our hobbies.. so if your neutral friend didn’t make that clear then she’s actually not a neutral friend…
