but remember waiting should not and can not mean you stop your life. go places. try new things, try new hobbies. of course don't force any of that in the middle of grief, but once the grief passes and you're finally able to passively wait, don't put parts of your life on pause for them. because unfortunately only time will tell you if they'll really come back or not.
