p.xisley :
There’s a myth that Sarah Winchester was told she would die if she ever stopped building her mansion, which caused her to constantly add rooms and stairways or doors that led nowhere ‘to confuse the ghosts’ of people killed by Winchester rifles.

It is not just the doors messed up like it is the whole house, I still do not understand how this house is structurally stable

I think it’s cause she was hallucinating and thought ghosts where gonna haunt her or kill her so she built them a house with a confusing layout so that the ghosts get confused when they go up stairs that lead to nowhere or open doors that are boarded while she sleeps in a different room every night so they can’t kill her

Btw the house was haunted and all the doors and stairs that lead nowhere were for her comfort of hiding from them

because the ghosts that she was communicating with told her that if she stopped building the house she would die and they go places mortals/humans cant

Her husband invented the gun and many died from it.Her husband died so she went to a spiritual guide. She was then told that the ghosts of the people that died from her husbands inventions were trying to kill her. In order not to be attacked by these ghosts she kept adding extensions to the home.
