@tokyojapannow: A new study by Kyoto University researchers led by Professor Takashi Unayama challenges the common belief that women’s higher education is the primary cause of Japan’s declining birth rate. By analyzing national census data for women born between 1940 and 1980, the research team developed a new method to track lifetime fertility rates across different educational backgrounds. The result challenges a long-running assumption. Researchers found that the rise in female university graduates explains only about 5% of the overall decline in completed fertility. Instead, fertility has fallen across all education groups since the 1955 generation. The study points to much broader changes: • More people remaining unmarried • Mothers having fewer children • More married couples choosing to remain childless That means simply blaming women’s education misses most of what is actually happening. The findings suggest Japan’s demographic challenge is tied far more deeply to marriage, family formation and changing lifestyles across society. So what do you think is REALLY driving Japan’s falling birth rate?
Because there is not enough childcare support that doesn't strain finances. If women have plenty of childcare support at low cost, like free daycare or subsidized education, combind with flexible work schedules, the birthdate would increase.

Japanese women have immigrated to other countries to have family and kids for decades. This is to avoid the attitude of the society and Japanese men. The fertility is still there.

All 3 reasons he points can be explaned as the result of female higher education🙄
1. marriage down because unlike men women don't marry down or even equal
2. women don't have time to have many children because of their career which is result of higher education
3. same as the 2nd
The end result and interpretation of the study are purely subjective. Bad study proves or disproves nothing

Cretinous thinking and an attempt to return to the 15th century. When conditions are created for a woman to be independent with children without depending on the "generosity of her partner", for example, when a fourth child is born, she automatically receives a salary as a caregiver, and when the youngest child turns 18, she retires with all the benefits of a caregiver. When mothers are allowed to have a more flexible relationship with employment, then there will be a shift towards increasing the domicile population and not an increase in "Muslim" migrants who receive all the benefits through social services, unlike domestic residents. When the 60+ year olds are banned from being smart and young people are allowed to make positive changes, then there will be a shift.
