Yes 🙌🏼 thank you! I took a Lyft/uber with my ex like 10 years ago and she happened to know the driver. It was about a 30 minute drive home and I was in the backseat and she didn’t introduce me once the whole drive! I was soooo offended and we got in a fight over it. I thought I was overreacting but you just validated my feelings…10 yrs later. lol. Better late than never. 🤣

Fil, I don’t disagree with you. AND, as someone married to and has a sibling with autism, sometimes it’s not a matter of being rude and instead it’s the result of a brain that doesn’t pick up on social cues. My autistic sister is significantly better at managing these situations than my autistic husband, but both are tremendously lacking in the interpersonal communication department. They’re both very sweet, caring human beings though - they just don’t get it.

Always taught my kids to hold doors, especially for the elderly but for anyone. The number of times they would and receive no acknowledgement! I also had to teach them that just because people are assholes, they shouldn’t stop doing it. They are adults now and Fil you are their brother from another mother 😂

Thankfully, my kids don’t need to take this course, and they’ve made good choices in friends who don’t need to either. My hack: have a Costco membership, and take your kids to all of the sample stations. Practice making eye contact, saying hello, asking if they may please try a sample, and saying thank you or no thank you. Rinse and repeat ad nauseam. I do not care if taking 15 seconds holds up the greedy grab and go gremlins. We now know so many of our sample reps that we have surrogate grandparents, and I have well mannered kids (most of the time!)
