as someone who works at a car rental company in reno... we can still tell even if you run it through a car wash 🤣 that playa dust gets everywhere and is easy to tell apart from regular dirt.

I'm a former Enterprise Vehicle Service Agent (quick turn detailer). I can in 100% confidence say that I've seen way worse. And ironically, not charged for excessive dirt, mud, smell etc. They'll just send it to "dirty detail" and not even give it to the VSAs. The return agents don't really care what happened to the car, just making sure there's no excessive wear and tear or something.

This ain’t gonna work. If you want any chance of not getting caught, you need someone to detail the car. They’re going to look UNDER it at the engine and tires - you can’t get the dust out with a gas station car wash 😵💫

The car places really aren’t that picky anymore. As long as you bring it back washed and vacuumed well, you should be fine. If you are just driving it in and then out, there really shouldn’t be much inside of it anyway.

As an actually ex enterprise rental employee, port boy, it ain’t that serious. If it comes back clean they still have us clean it. However if the inside is stained or had horrific smells that’s where they will truly give a shit

We got in trouble for a rental in Vegas for edc. They routed us to some fucked up backway and we didn’t get the dust off the bottom well enough. Go get this car detailed.

I moved cross country with a German Shepard and 2 cats and the litter boxes in a rental. There was wet cat litter on a seat that I couldn’t get out no matter how hard I tried. I did not get charged a penny extra. You’ll be fine.

I drove an enterprise jeep onto the beach at pismo beach CA, didn’t realize it wasnt AWD and got stuck in the sand til someone dragged me out. Half the car was filled with sand, and I didnt get charged a cent.

friend... its in the engine bay, the engine, the chassis, the air vents, the air filters(all of them), the crevices... a drive through car wash isnt going to do it.

Not gonna work lol. Not even with a detail. They’re look all over that car, and find the dust in places you’d never expect. Taking a car to burning man is as good as totalling it. That dust immediately gets into the suspension, ball joints, air box, and much more, and it wrecks them overtime. Your gonna be paying off that car for a LONG TIME
