One thing about the drawing scene that I love is that Macon tried to intimidate John and almost emasculate him but john takes the drawing very seriously and even makes demands of Macon like telling him to hold still. which I find hilarious.

I don’t think I’ve quite understood Hal’s reluctance to have John be his replacement/backup— or if it’s some prior knowledge things fans would know of. I get him trying to hold onto the reins for as long as possible, but they also make Hal out to be very resigned about his lantern responsibility. I’m not quite sure if I’m supposed to think he’s still bought in or jaded. Maybe that’s what they’re going for and more is yet to be revealed.
