Seahorse (Intermediate)- quite tricky to get my arms around his head tho😂😭 I remember walking into my 4th or 5th pole class ever (before I even had my pole at home), which was an open level class. The instructor usually teaches pole tricks and shows harder as well as easier variants (if available). Me, not knowing anything, barely having learned to climb, completely shocked but also intrigued, tried this shape- and massively failed to do so😂 BUT the instructor gave me tips and tricks and tried helping me as best as she could. I actually managed to get into the shape for a split second by the end of the class- which was so motivating and rewarding. When I got my pole a week or so after, I tried over and over, getting better each and every time. This trick is a pretty easy one, but back then it was huge. Especially as I LITERALLY had no muscles at all, cause I came straight out of ana recovery. I was severely malnourished for a very long time and my muscles had atrophied a lot, sometimes I wasn’t even sure if I still had any muscles left at all- I won’t go into more detail tho. Went all-in and got into normal weight really quickly (which could’ve also potentially been really dangerous, it’s called “refeeding syndrome”)- I’m talking ‘normal weight in a span of 1 1/2 months’, which was absolutely insane. My body was so confused but tried storing and getting as much as it could, sometimes waking me up at 3 in the morning with an excruciating feeling of hunger. I looked so disproportionate- my body tried saving the organs first, which led to a pretty significant weight gain in my belly area, but the rest still looked malnourished😂😭took some time, but it got better. A few months later I looked like a human again, about 9 months into recovery my body started distributing the essential fat a lot more proportionately and my metabolism turned backto normal, not clinging to each and every bit of food it could get anymore.Anyway, I knew I had and wanted to do *something* and I always wanted to try pole. I then booked a pole class on a random monday in February 2025 and immediately fell in love with the sport. Pole is so rewarding. You can see and feel improvements from session to session, sometimes even in the session itself- especially in the beginning. My pole at home allows me to do whatever whenever. Perfect for my ADHD😂 No but seriously. Pole saved me from myself. I still struggle a lot with my body image, but it’s gotten so much better. Pole basically forces you to work with and listen to your body (my therapist was SO confused when I told her I started pole, ana and pole don’t usually fit together that well😂). I’ve always struggled with my thighs specifically. I remember being so insecure in school, I always lifted my legs a bit when sitting on any kind of chair cause I have “thighs of thunder” (they’re apparently called I believe? Which is so stupid cause it’s just.. normal?? That’s besides the point tho). But now, I NEED my thighs. And tbh a bit of extra squish helps with a lot of shapes😂 I try to ignore and not look at them most of the time, which somewhat works. I’ll just not think about them😂 but in general, I know I need to properly feed my body so I can continue progressing in pole. Gaining weight isn’t too much of an issue anymore, cause it’s mostly muscle. I don’t step on scales anymore, it just doesn’t say or mean anything anymore. My weight will continue to rise, but I’m perfectly healthy, just gaining more strength. Looking at a number that is categorized for a different model of body composition is just.. unnecessary. I also know I’d probably have a mental breakdown😂😭 Even though I know it doesn’t really say anything. I’m SO sorry for this brick wall of a text, I don’t know what’s gotten into me😂😭 ANYWAY- I hope you’re doing well <3 And if you’re struggling.. just know that is okay too. You are loved, you are valid and you are not alone❤️🫂 #deltarunechapter3 #deltarune #deltarunechapter5 #tenna #tennapole
