im minus 200 a month after all bills. hit credit cards to get me by until I find a better paying job..... which will put CMS payments up more

What most of us don’t understand if single mothers are struggling then why is the child living with a mother? Things need to change in the west for where the courts should automatically go 50-50 and whatever parent financially is not coping then it goes to the opposite parent

I want to know, how is it based off your income. Is the child a golden kid or something. I think it should be a set price across the board except low income dads. If you earn more than i don’t know let’s say 100k a year. Anything above same price, anything below it’s based on your income and they take inconsideration rent(housing prices at the time) food, bills etc. then take a portion of what’s left. Either that or only make those that do not contribute to parenting (by their on choice like deadbeat dads) to have to pay.

Woman at CSA said to me after I said I cant afford my rent and bills if they took what they was going to take, their reply on the phone was "dont you think your children deserve that money," i said "they'll recieve nothing if im evicted and have to quit my job. a day later I rung again and spoke to a man at CSA, he went through everything I'd already paid and what I earned, he said "im paying £8 a month more than I need too. The 1st lady would not listen to me at all, this chap listened and went through everything, to then say I was over paying £8 a month.

I offered 180 a week they wanted 280 so I started my own company now she gets £18 a week if I hadn’t I’d not have been able to work

My ex husband pays me directly and I know if I took him to CSA it would be double. I choose not to do this because everyone should be able to live without struggling.

think i know what your saying my X tells me I have to take them on holiday and buy them cloths and give the my kids money even thou she gets maintenance off me and when I said to her ill end up on the streets her reply was thats your problem you still have to pay

Im being fighting this for years. few years back ended up on about 100 left a month to survive so I had to keep swapping jobs to survive. tried going self employed but I couldn't. now comes out my wages, doing overtime to stay afloat but next year will just be worse because of the overtime. got court order but ex not let me see my daughter for over 3 years now. my mental health is suffering just because my daughters mum is bitter

£890 pcm 🤷🏻♂️not sure my daughter is still in education ….. I did find out my ex and all the family had a 3 week holiday in Egypt last year 😳

I am left with no spare money at all, to top that child maintenance have told her that if she doesn't allow me to have contact then she gets even more, so she stopped contact for no reason at all, never any abuse or violence, literally just to get more money and I can't afford to take her to court to see them, so I have no money, stress I can't even begin to describe and my heart broken as those boys are my everything.

I pay £500 per month, I see my 15yo every other weekend, my ex and I had an arrangement but as I couldn’t afford to pay her and so Christmas one year, she went to CSA, made up rubbish of not paying since a certain date and had arrears even before a payment was made! system is broken and it punishes the paying parent, amd the recipient of the payment DOES weaponise it!
