@cakeflowplanner.app: I will no longer underprice my cakes. Looking back at some of the cakes I’ve made, I can see how often I was simply guessing my prices. 🎂 I knew how much I charged for the cake… but I didn’t always know how much I actually earned. Sometimes I forgot to include packaging. Sometimes I underestimated how many hours the cake would take. And sometimes I calculated the ingredients but forgot about all the other costs that come with running a home bakery business. And then there are the cakes I made a few years ago. Ingredient prices have changed so much that I would never charge the same price for them today. That’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a home baker: **The price of your ingredients is NOT the price of your cake.** When pricing a custom cake, you also need to think about: • ingredient costs • fillings and decorations • cake boards and boxes • your working time • overhead costs • and the profit you actually want to make Because being fully booked doesn’t automatically mean your baking business is profitable. These are also some of the reasons we created **CakeFlow Planner**. Instead of guessing my cake prices, CakeFlow helps calculate the real cost of a cake based on the recipe, ingredients, labor and overhead, so I can see what the order actually costs before deciding what to charge. If you run a **home bakery, cake business or custom cake business**, I’m curious: **What is the one cost you used to forget when pricing your cakes? 👀** And should I make a full series breaking down exactly what each of these cakes cost me, what I charged and how much I actually earned? #c#cakepricingh#homebakerh#homebakeryc#cakebusinessbakingbusiness
