loving a parent as they battle addiction is not for the weak. took so many years for my mom to get sober, yet my heart still aches. knowing that she didn't want to change for herself or for her own children for a long time was definitely a hard pill to swallow.

When your frontal lobe fully develops, and you have questions for you addict, bio mother, who you haven’t laid eyes on since you were 8, but unfortunately she is 6ft under. The void of “the why” will never come with any sufficient answers, so you learn to live with it, and hope you NEVER end up like that for you children. 🖤

my mom was addicted and i can tell u once i knew its like thing between us js erupted. i finally knew why she was the way she was and it made me so angry. it ruins relationships so fast and it leaves marks. my mom had been clean about id say close to a yr and we still have trouble sometimes and theres things that she did then i cant ever forget.
