Here’s what happened⤵️: I was picking up my son and his friends from school and they were being silly. They weren’t really saying much and laughing hysterically. That’s when I noticed my 9 year-old making this v-finger over the mouth gesture✌🏻👄👅. And His friends all laughing and doing it too. I didn’t think he knew what it meant but I didn’t want him to make this gesture to his teacher or grandparents so I addressed it with him later that day and said, “I noticed something that you and your friends were doing today and I want you to know what it means and why it’s an inappropriate behavior. The V-finger over the mouth ✌🏻👄👅gesture refers to sex. Do you remember the 3 types of sex that we talked about it? This gesture refers to oral sex. Because sex is not something children do, this gesture is not appropriate for kids to be making. I don’t know if your friends are aware of what the gesture means, but I am going to inform their parents to explain it to them just liked I explained it to you.” This talk was simple to have because the basic foundations for the sex talks had already been laid.
