Geʽez : ኖላዊ ትጉህ ኖላዊ ትጉህ፣ ሐውፀነ በምሕረት ብዙኅ። Latin Transliteration : No’lawi tigu’hi, hawi’tsene be’mihret-bizu’hi. English : O vigilant Shepherd, who does not slumber, surround us with Your abundant mercy. Amharic : ትጉህ እረኛ ሆይ፣ ትጉህ እረኛ ሆይ፣ በብዙ ምሕረትህ ከበበን። Tigrinya : ትጉህ ጓሳ ኦ፣ ትጉህ ጓሳ ኦ፣ ብብዙሕ ምሕረትካ ከበበና። Liturgical Meaning : This hymn addresses Christ as the watchful Shepherd who guards His flock. The phrase “ሐውፀነ በምሕረት ብዙኅ” asks Him to encircle and protect the faithful with His abundant mercy. The repetition gives the prayer a pleading, devotional character: the Church looks to Christ not only as Shepherd, but as the One whose mercy surrounds, protects, and preserves His people.
