@agrotonomy: We’ve set up vertical farms in 60 countries around the world, here are a few of them: Portugal: This vertical farm inside a prison in Portugal uses 40 aeroponic towers and is entirely managed by the prisoners and guards. The goal of this farm is to transform the lives of the prisoners through sustainable farming while empowering the inmates in their rehabilitation journey. This project was spearheaded by our partners who have a non-profit organization known as UpFarming Jamaica: This vertical farm featuring 100 aeroponic towers is located in the heart of Kingston, Jamaica. They grow a wide range of crops including lettuce, basil, Scotch bonnet peppers, scallions, and more. The goal of this farm is to provide fresh produce to the local community. This project was established by our partners known as Jamaica Tower Farms Cyprus: Located on an island where water scarcity and limited arable land present major challenges for agriculture, this vertical farm features 100 aeroponic towers producing fresh crops year-round. By using up to 95% less water than traditional farming, the system provides an efficient solution for local food production. This project was implemented by our partners Trinidad and Tobago: Located in the Caribbean, this vertical farm features 140 aeroponic towers producing thousands of heads of lettuce along with multiple varieties of basil. This farm enables efficient, year-round local food production in a hot and humid tropical climate. Kuwait: Located in the middle of the Kuwaiti desert, multiple greenhouses operate hundreds of aeroponic towers growing a wide variety of crops. With water scarcity being a major challenge throughout the region, aeroponic towers use a fraction of the water required by traditional farming, making this system particularly well suited to Kuwait’s environment.
