a family member told my kids ones: you eat what's on the table...next day I made liver, I knew he hates it, he was like: I am not going to eat that. My answer: you eat what's on the table. .....why would adults get a choice but kids don't?

I did this too but with enchiladas and stayed at that table til 2am and now I refuse to eat my dad's enchiladas. he makes them? dont eat em. we go to a Mexican restaurant? I order the enchilada deluxe plate just to piss him off

My rule was you have to try it but if you don’t like it you don’t have to eat it…… I mean I wouldn’t eat something I didn’t like so why make a kid? My daughter has a very sophisticated palate and eats so many different foods I think because of this at least try it rule.

This reminds me of my wife's story about when she refused to eat spinach (I think) and was told she had to sit there until she did. She sat there until bedtime when her dad finally told her to go to bed.

I sat at the table with a pile of mashed potatoes that my mom told my dad not to give me. Right before she got home, close to 9:00 pm, I took a bite and threw it up all over the table. My mom walked in, took one look and told him to get busy cleaning that up…I went to bed! 😂😂

if the dad was too lazy to put the already prepped food in the oven, he probably didnt make the spaghetti o's on the stove. he probably put it in the microwave. the microwave tells you when the food is done. the oven and stove don't.

I will never understand why a parent or whoever's watching the child would force a child to eat what they don't like. my son doesn't like pasta sauce, so if I make spaghetti with sauce I'll take some spaghetti put it on the side and saute it in garlic and olive oil for him. it's not that hard to make something that your child likes. SMH

my parents ALSO tried to be "youll eat it or youll starve" kind of parents until they realized I chose starvation. Im just grateful they weren't OK with seeing me starve and chose to stop forcing me to eat things I didnt like.
