@artem_pankovich: Injector Installation & Fuel System Assembly. • We are getting very close to the end of the Mercedes-Benz OM642 3.0 CDI engine rebuild. Today it is time to install the injectors - one of the final major steps before the engine is ready for its first start. • New copper sealing washers and new injector retaining bolts are used. Before installation, ceramic paste is applied to the injector bodies to prevent them from sticking in the cylinder head and make future removal much easier. • The injector bolts are tightened correctly in stages: 7 Nm followed by two 90-degree turns. The fuel lines and common rail have already been thoroughly cleaned and blown through before assembly. • After installing the injectors, we connect the fuel lines, electrical connectors and the new injector return line. The return system uses quick-connect fittings, and I show how these fittings work and lock into position. • Another important step in the OM642 rebuild completed.
