Pastor, please relax. You are not God, and none of us has the authority to determine who will or will not make it to Heaven. It is deeply disappointing to see you use such a painful moment to make condescending remarks about the deceased and her family. It almost seems as though you were waiting for an opportunity like this to speak against them. Please remember what the Bible teaches: even our righteous acts are like filthy rags before God including yours. We are all imperfect and in need of God’s grace. Instead of using someone’s funeral to condemn others, perhaps this should be a moment for reflection, compassion, humility, and prayer.

Sometimes, giving a child too much freedom without correction can lead to serious consequences. Parents and elders have a duty to guide children when they are going wrong. In this situation, the pastor had the right to speak about reality. The deceased deserved respect, but the truth should not be hidden. Proper guidance could have prevented such embarrassment.
