@artvangarde: NOVEMBER by IMRE & MARNE VAN OPSTAL. Artvangarde Dutch choreographers Imre and Marne van Opstal create contemporary dance works known for their intense physicality, sculptural bodies and exploration of human relationships and transformation. In November, created for Semperoper Ballett, the dancers move through a dark, shifting environment where bodies seem to bend, collapse, crawl and reorganize into unfamiliar forms. The choreography is inseparable from its stage environment. Artist Boris Acket created the scenography and sound design, using monumental moving surfaces that transform the space around the dancers. Light design by Tom Visser further changes how bodies and materials appear on stage.
