@mayinmidlife: This is why I keep showing up here. We spend so much time preparing people to serve, but I believe we need to put just as much energy into preparing them for what comes next. Leaving the military is more than finding a new job. It’s understanding your benefits, protecting what you’ve earned, finding purpose again, building a new community and figuring out who you are when the uniform comes off. After 24 years in the Navy, I know that transition doesn’t always happen neatly. So whether you’re still serving, getting ready to separate or retire, already a veteran, or simply someone who cares about the military community, this space is for you. My goal is simple: help more service members walk into their next chapter informed, prepared and knowing they still have a whole lot of life left to build. And if we can make that transition a little easier for the person coming behind us? Even better. ❤️🇺🇸 #MilitaryTransition #Veterans #VeteranResources #LifeAfterTheMilitary #MilitaryCommunity

This is exactly my “why”… I had a terrible transition. Thought did everything right, walked out Day 1 unemployed. Got a job offer that day, but no income for 2 weeks, nothing really in the bank, retirement doesn’t start for a month, VA not for 6 weeks, and a SAHM… so that 1st month was rough. Learned life lessons real quick. But here I am 10 years later and Vets and TSMs are my passion, and I am just starting on this platform…. NNSY does not use this platform, so it’s just me trying to reach this niche of TSMs looking for fed employment in Hampton Roads. Any help to grow to 1000, so I can drop a linktree helps!

Very well done, good advice. I spent a little over 22 and some change, in the Army, I don’t regret any of it , except for a little wear and tear on the body . I think I’ve had a harder time being a civilian than a soldier. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Love the message here! I had no clue what I was going to do when I retired. A manufacturing company hired me as a maintenance manager near my hometown. Got my feet wet there for three years and moved to a new company. Now I’m in my dream job leading two maintenance departments across two plants. We manufacture specialty material alloys, of which one product is supplied to go into submarines and aircraft carriers nuclear reactors. Bonus! Cheers!
