For nearly two decades, PPP has remained a dominant force in governing Sindh, yet Karachi continues to struggle with serious problems in basic infrastructure and civic services. Once Pakistan’s economic powerhouse, the city has faced deteriorating roads, overflowing garbage, sewage and drainage issues, water shortages, poor public transport and inadequate urban planning. Despite Karachi being one of the country’s biggest economic contributors, years of political disputes, weak administration and insufficient long-term investment have left many areas struggling with basic necessities. The repeated flooding, broken infrastructure and waste-management crises are symptoms of a deeper failure to maintain and develop the city. PPP’s long tenure in Sindh makes its record deserving of scrutiny and accountability. Karachi deserves better than temporary solutions and political excuses. A city this important needs modern infrastructure, reliable services, effective administration and sustained investment.
