This is the dumbest advice. This person doesnt seem to understand that the RECRUTER is the one that will eat the difference. The company will never be included in the conversation. The recruter will say no way. If they really want you, they may call back in a week or so with a counter offer.

So I'm currently in negotiations and I'm kinda perplexed. There was a range and my skill-sets matches the higher number but due to internal equity, I'm low-balled. I went back with strong justification but how is this fair. They posted a range, my experience etc aligns to the top but because current staff is lower, my offer is lower? I fear they won't budge or will rescind but I'm like this isn't cool. Thoughts?
