@johncanningco: In this behind-the-scenes look, our plasterers pour plaster into a previously made silicone mould, carefully incorporate hemp into the plaster for added reinforcement, and apply additional plaster over the top. The materials work together to create a strong, stable mould while maintaining the shape and intricate details captured by the mould. Once the plaster mould portion is completed, a wooden frame is secured to its backside to reinforce the assembly. This provides added structural support and stability during transport and while the silicone mold is being removed from the plaster support. From material preparation to the final reinforcement, every stage of the process reflects the craftsmanship and attention to detail essential to historic preservation and architectural restoration.
