Apparently not. Lehman bought major sub prime lenders. Bought tons of mortgages to warehouse then sell as mortgage backed securities. Subprime loans failed and could not sell crap MBS in their warehouse.

Leverage when it works it works…and when it doesn’t the US taxpayers bail you out…it’s a no loss game for the rich..while what use to be a middle class bailed them out

朱昊760 :
The real problem is Lehman knew those bonds are worth nothing but still sold them to investors, hoping that the bubble will pop when someone else is holding these shit. Greed is what killed Lehman, leverage only made it faster.

So you're saying we're in the same place as we were in 2008/2009. The only change now is that they don't have to put them at real value. So how does this story end or does it ever end? 🤔

Do one on Enron. Similar story to Lehman. Short term levered financing for long term assets.

I have a question… Why hasn’t the market tanked with what’s going on in the world? Why does it keep surviving?

So where does it make sense to invest right now? Assuming a moderate risk tolerance and a 5 year time horizon.
