I don’t know I think the dynamic of their relationship is what made it sexy. Sure they’re toxic but they both know that, they both want that dynamic. I think the point of their co-dependency is that it made Lee feel alive, which is why she was able to give up SH. Him giving her commands is somewhat of a grounding thing for her while she is living in an unstable household. That stability is why Lee gains this sudden confidence because he gives her direction. I think it’s sexy because it shows that unconventional relationships aren’t without reason, and what may appear as “toxic” to you is completely normal and intentional for them.

it really depends on the viewer, their dynamic is not for neurotypical audiences to understand or comprehend for themselves because it’s not about them. the movie made that quite clear and at the end they’re two people who understand each other on a deeper level and care for each others wounds and scars. it’s not supposed to be normal nor is it supposed to be sexy inherently, it’s supposed to show the complexities of the both these two characters while also displaying their love for each others unnatural-ness in the public eye. if it was bad it wasn’t for yiu
