The KytyPS5 emulator has become the first to run Demon's Souls Remake on PC all the way into actual gameplay, passing the character creation screen and loading into a level for the first time. A nearly 12-minute video posted by blogger PSXTech shows it in action across several hardware configurations. The catch is that performance is still nowhere near playable, frame rates are sitting at 1 to 2 frames per second even on high-end hardware like a Ryzen 9 9950X3D. A separate emulator called SharpEmu has also been making rapid progress, going from booting the game to reaching the character creation screen within the space of a week.
