As someone who’s worked in HR for 20+ years and had to complete a redundancy cycles this is so real. Companies dgaf and the impact on the rest of the workforce is nearly impossible to recover from. Every time I’ve had to complete a redundancy I’ve left that company asap! The days over working for an organisation for your whole life are over, in fact it can be detrimental to your career. Stay loyal to yourself only

we had massive redundancies and my boss told us survivors that with AI we will all eventually be made redundant sooner or later, I started applying and handed my notice in 2 weeks later

I was made redundant in November but stayed after securing a new role. Last week I secured another new role. All in the same business but I’m on 20K more than I was on last year. However, I don’t enjoy my job, I don’t bond with my colleagues anymore. I am completely disengaged. They treated us all abysmally and I’ll not forget it. I’ll turn up and work but I’ll never forget.

Literally why I left as did so many other high achievers. I was there for 18 months and saw 4 rounds of redundancies, and teams shrunk, so I left. Now they're left with all the awful people who aren't qualified to do the job elsewhere

You start to not care. Best performers are let go because the price to keep a good and experience person is suddenly seen as an unnecessary or avoidable cost. Meanwhile it’s the same company that trained the person on the job over time and afforded them the satisfaction of a salary to focus and build the business through his or her contribution and learning. But suddenly that doesn’t matter anymore. Redundancy is terrible!
