I am 20 years in from my knee replacement surgery. I didn’t have much pain, maybe just for a week but that was is it. Wish you good luck and may you heal quickly 😊

Ask your doctor for the new non opioid pain medication Journavx
it is a game changer for the pain.

Don’t talk yourself into the pain, Tylenol and ice will be your best friend for a few days.

The worst pain that I had was where the tourniquet was that's usually 6 or 8 in above your knee. no one told me about that pain and it lasted for 10 days

Day 18; haven’t cried not a once. Yes, it’s tough but stay ahead of your pain. Once home, eat something and take what’s prescribed, then ice. Take your meds as prescribed and then ice again. Don’t let the pain get a head of itself. PT will helpful. Bare with it. Good luck.

Yes. 3 weeks Post Op. stay in front of the pain and keep it iced. MOST importantly keep and positive mind and give yourself grace.

I had TKR in May 2026. Best decision I’ve ever made. I still have some soreness and stiffness but it’s better than before. Physical Therapy is Key. Good Luck!

I’m 6 months post-op right knee surgery… the first 2 weeks was painful and the tightness around the knee subsided around 4 weeks.. I’m so happy I did it .. no knee pain whatsoever.. Definitely stick to the physical therapy actually continue you knee exercises for a year or more …

Take your meds ice your knee as often as you can . I do everything your PT tells you to do. Don’t overwork yourself do too much that you’ll be back at step one. I’m one year postop. I know my knee is different but it’s back to normal.

Take pain pills before the pain starts. Use ice machine, distract yourself from pain

Mine wasn’t. But I had a good pain management plan already in place. If you get good meds and take them as prescribed you will be fine. The tough part is being dependent on others for a while and realizing you can’t do everything right away.

Only for a couple days. Then the healing begins and off you go. I’ve had two replacements in two years and yeah, I was scared but I did it and woohoo. Pain free
