I think you might be missing a point here. Your original video would have been a lot more helpful for international students (don't focus on British English only) if you had mentioned 'forgot' sounds unnatural in BrE, but is fine in AmE

@Rebecca’s English Hub In my point of view, I think both of you are correct in your own way. English has different varieties, teaching styles, and ways people naturally communicate. As English speakers, we usually understand the situation from the context and the words being used. Of course, learning correct grammar is important, but we also shouldn’t overthink every single sentence and become afraid to speak. Just speak, practise, communicate, and build your confidence. That matters a lot too. 😊 And honestly, I believe most English speakers respect people who are making an effort to learn and practise their language. Let’s support different teachers and different teaching styles instead of bringing each other down. ❤️And finally, Rebecca, I really love your teaching style because your lessons are always so useful and easy to understand. Keep doing what you do! ❤️👏

And maybe what she said is the real everyday english (in her region) but if you are teaching me I want to learn the proper and correct way. I do care about the grammar and the rules, that is the reason I pay you or watch your videos.

Ms. you are right. She is right as well. in most countries in the world we use English as Open language (Língua Franca, in portuguese). Meaning that the goal is to debate some meanings. but we, in your niche you are also correct since maybe some of us here are just getting videos for a different audience

but honestly, English is for communication, and yeah, sometimes people use it to show off a little. if someone speaks english in an idiomatic way or with a different kind of nuance, that's up to the speaker. there's really no need to overcomplicate it by arguing about which english sounds more 'native' and which doesn't. we speak english because, let's just be real, 90% of native speakers can only speak english. so there's no need to act like there's some huge distinction between 'natural English' and 'textbook English'. isn't that DEEP!

How could you tell the difference if you left your sunglasses in car intentionally or you forget it When you said “ I forgot my sunglasses in the car “ ? , thanks teacher

You're coming at this as a native speaker! In my other two languages, saying you "forgot something somewhere" just means you forgot to bring it, not that you left it intentionally 😊 Non-native speakers usually translate word-for-word. Every language has its own unique way of expressing thoughts, but I think it's always best to learn and make it sound the way it's supposed to!
