I see what you’re doing here 😂 The last post about Mbappé and now this one about Lamine Yamal? Oh, I see the curriculum you’re teaching us 😭. Because this is actually a good example of how football media creates narratives. Take one clip, remove the surrounding context, give one player the “arrogant villain” edit, then take another player saying something about putting the team first and suddenly it becomes, “Look how humble and selfless he is 🥹.” And that’s where people need to be careful. A clip can show you what someone said, but context tells you what they actually meant. You can’t build an entire personality assessment from 10 seconds and then act surprised when people believe the narrative you created. Mbappé has been made into this arrogant villain so many times that at this point, people will interpret literally anything he says through that lens 😂. And now Lamine saying he wants his team to win becomes evidence of humility and character. Maybe it is. But maybe… just maybe… we should let players be human instead of turning every interview into a morality play. And I’m not even saying you can’t post these things. You’re a football media platform. You need debates, rivalries and controversy for engagement. Without them, what would the comment section be doing? Discussing tactics peacefully? Be serious 😂. Just understand that when you repeatedly frame one player negatively and another positively, you’re not merely reporting football anymore you’re helping shape how people perceive those players. But hey, I understand. Paint your villains, create your heroes, and let the comments fight for 48 hours 😭. At least somebody is getting educated… even if it’s accidentally.
