One character that many people don’t realize has gone through a physical change due to the evolution of the animation is Nojiko. When she first appeared in the Arlong Park arc, Nojiko had short light-blue hair, a simpler appearance, and a character design that strongly reflected the early One Piece animation style. However, as the series progressed, her design also changed and she began to look more mature. The most noticeable changes can be seen in her hair and overall appearance. In her newer appearances, Nojiko’s hair looks longer, her face looks more mature, and her overall design has become more refined compared to her early days in Arlong Park. She also started wearing lipstick, which further emphasizes her more mature appearance. Interestingly, Nojiko’s tattoos also have an important story behind them. She got the tattoos as a way of showing her support for Nami after seeing her adopted sister suffer because of Arlong’s rule.
