Cecconi’s is a premium Italian restaurant located on Toorak Road. It’s the chic younger sibling to their first venue on Flinder Lane in the CBD - which has been open for over 20 years. ❤️‍🔥 From the moment you step in, it hits you with elegance and luxury - travertine and red marble, warm wood panelling, statement chandeliers and crisp white tablecloths down to the cutlery. Their a la carte menu highlights a heritage of Northern Italian cuisine with a contemporary touch, led by Naples-born Head Chef Maurizio De Marzi (ex-Scopri). 🇮🇹 They’ve also just brought on a new Pastry Chef, Matilde Escotte, who has an impressive background — from cooking for the Royal Family to working at Gordon Ramsay’s The Maze, Harrods London and even Melbourne’s own Da Noi. ⭐️ Sourdough – perfection, and complimentary! ⭐️ Potato & smoked mozzarella croquette, basil mayo ⭐️ Steak Tartare – one of the best I’ve had, diced so fine! ✔️ Squid ink tagliolini, blue swimmer crab, yellow tomato coulis, chilli, garlic ✔️ Bucatini cacio e pepe ⭐️ Veal Cotoletta – huge! Golden, perfectly crumbed, and crisp. The salad looked simple but was so finely shaved and fresh. ⭐️ Chips – skin on, hand-cut, another huge bowl ⭐️ Tiramisu, chocolate shell – a unique take that’s landed on Melbourne’s Top Tiramisu lists by multiple publications. The sponge fingers are crisp rather than super soaked, encased in a fine chocolate shell. Very textural. The service was immaculate - most of the staff are from different regions of Italy, which really adds to the authenticity. The atmosphere felt a little corporate, but it was a Tuesday night. I imagine a Friday or Saturday would have a much livelier vibe. 😊 We were so impressed by the execution and generosity of the dishes. A great spot for a special occasion or just a really lovely dinner - it’s one of Melbourne’s best for sure. 👏🏽 If you’re around for lunch Tuesday to Saturday, they offer a $59pp two-course menu with an entrée and a main. ⭐️ 5/5 💰 $$$ Have you visited? Let us know your thoughts!👇🏽 Follow for more honest recommendations on where to eat, play and stay in Melbourne ❤️‍🔥 invite | #italianrestaurant #italianfood #finedining #melbournerestaurant #foryou #datenight
