@mamaot_shannon: When starting solids around 6 months, bigger pieces of food are actually be safer than small pieces‼️ A baby’s airway is still very small at this age at about ¼ inch in diameter. This means small pieces of food that have been diced or cut up or shredded can be more likely to completely block the airway if they enter it. Instead, offer foods in large, graspable pieces that baby can hold onto and bring to their mouth themselves. Think: 🍓 A whole or large strawberry 🍌 Half of a banana 🥦 A large, soft piece of broccoli 🥑 A thick slice of avocado ##babyledweaning##startingsolids ##feedingtips##babyledweaningideas##infantfeeding

How about when switching to finger foods? Like the 9+ age range. I was fine with the big chunks of stuff but the smaller pieces they use the pincer grasp for is freaking me out. How big am I supposed to make it?
