@npr: The NTSB is investigating why an Amazon cargo plane ran off the end of a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, as it was making its arrival from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The 767 slammed into a van and an SUV before coming to a stop, leaving five people dead. Investigators say all those killed were in vehicles on the ground. NTSB chair Jennifer Homendy described the scene as "utter devastation": "The vehicle itself the SUV, you can see airbags, there’s components from vehicles, components of navigational aids, debris from the airport. Its pretty extensive." Homendy said they recovered the flight data recorder and the cockpit recorder. Find “NPR News Now” wherever you listen to podcasts.
